Best Basket Ideas for an Egg-citing Easter!

Easter arrives early this year, on March 27th. We've got a few weeks to dig out those baskets and eggs and get crackin' on what to fill them with. If you're like me, each year is a new hunt to find non-candy alternatives with which to accomplish this. Ju-Ju Monkey has some egg-cellent ideas for creating beautiful and fun baskets any little one would love to discover on Easter morning.

You can't have an Easter basket without eggs, and the eco-kids eco-eggs coloring kit is the perfect answer for eco friendly, kid-safe egg dying. Made in the USA from natural, organic fruit and vegetable extracts, this kit comes with primary color tablets, directions for creating 6 additional custom colors, an egg crayon, dipper, and creature cut-outs to dress up your eggs. This kit makes lovely, natural looking eggs in earthy colors.

Add in some fun egg toys with the Plan Toys Egg Percussion Set or
the Green Tones Egg Shaker.

The new hand-knitted Veggie Rattles from Pebble, especially the carrot, are perfect for babies to mouth and shake and older toddlers for pretend play. Or check out the Rich Frog K'NIT Bunny and Plan Toys Bunny Racer for more Easter-inspired toys.

If you haven't had the pleasure of seeing our new Wild Woolies line from dZi, you need to meet these little guys! Made in fair-trade from 100% natural wool and non-toxic azo-free dyes, these felted critters and accessories are soft, adorable, and beautifully designed. The Finger Pal finger puppets in the Chick and Bunny would be perfect for Easter.

Looking for a cute gift for the whole family? Pair the Dr. Seuss book, I Wish That I Had Duck Feet with the Rich Frog Baby Duck Booties and Adult-sized Duck Feet slippers!

The Begin Again Bathtub Pals and Nubbles, Indestructables Baby Books, HABA Finger Puppets, Episencial Peaceful Bubble Bath, and Maple Landmark Name Train all make wonderful additions to your baskets. Don't forget to add the Name Train Easter Car to any new or existing trains you have!

If you are planning on adding some edible treats to your baskets, check out these great ideas!

1. Fill a Planetwise Snack Bag or small wet bag with snacks or fruit.
2. Pair some squeezable baby food or apple sauce pouches with a pack of ChooMe Sip n' Spout Soft Tops.
3. Add a small handful of wrapped chocolate coins to the dZi Bunny Coin Purse.
4. Fill the Eco Lunchbox Stainless Seal Cup Trio with 3 different fun treats.
5. Toss in a new Jack n' Jill Bunny Toothbrush and fun flavored toothpaste!

And for my favorite Easter basket idea of all- replace that wasteful, messy plastic grass with a beautiful play silk or two from Sarah's Silks. They look beautiful in a basket, double as a super fun gift, and eliminate all of the trash and mess of traditional Easter grass. Your pet's digestive system will thank you.
